About us

Hello, friends! My name is Sarah and I'm the pink-haired weirdo behind The Hissin' Kitten!

I created this colorful little business shortly after moving to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2021 with my husband Henry, our kiddos and our sweet dog Honey Buns.

This is Henry

The yin to my yang. My biggest fan and most enthusiastic supporter. My partner in crime and craft. Always there to tell me my crazy ideas are amazing.

If I'm at the shop, Henry's at the shop, most likely working his ass off assembling earrings, painting things pink for me and cleaning up my messes.

how it started

This is a photo of our very first market booth. I remember loading the car full of colorful jewelry, shirts, totes and pom garland and being so nervous that we wouldn't make a single sale. We had just moved to Las Cruces, so nobody knew who we were. When we left that day, I was almost in tears at how much love and support the community showed us. (And we made $550 that day!)

how it's going

In September of 2022, after more than a year of markets, we opened our very first storefront just one mile from the spot where it all began. It's a small space, but we've completely transformed it into the happiest, most colorful little shop!

Located at 201 S. Solano Drive in Las Cruces, we are open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 7pm.

Why no weekend hours? Because we still set up at the markets! Every Saturday, you can find us downtown Las Cruces, set up right in front of a rainbow mural and most Sundays you can find us in El Paso, Texas at the Upper Valley Market. We absolutely adore our market friends and customers!
